Future of the Desktop Presentation

I attended the Technet, "Future of the Desktop" presentation today. There were two really nifty things that came out of it for me. One, that I am going to have to do some more investigation into to try and find out more about the Ribbon Bar Control in Outlook 2007. I see that some others have seen it and already replicated its functionality. You better believe that once users get their hands on Office 2007 (after its release) that they are going to want that same functionality in their home-grown applications. The second was the features of Vista deployment using ImageX. Definitely cool, well thought out, and should help those of us who are asked by family members to fix their computers, to create and maintain images of their systems to restore things to a known good state more quickly, without having to purchase applications like Norton Ghost.
